General Information:
Title: We, at the School of Medicine of the University of Athens, are currently committed to organise an International Workshop (IW). It will be the first of its type. The tentative title is:
Modern Asclepieions: Health <-> Culture
Aims: "Modern Asclepieions" are parks where Health and Culture are promoted in parallel and in harmony. They are modeled after the ancient Asclepieions. Please read the document The New Asclepieions for more information on the concepts, the ideas and the proposed pilot applications.
The International Workshop has the ambition to initiate the dialogue among scholars of various disciplines concerning a new approach of citizen empowerment with respect to services of Health and Culture that are indispensable to him/her for improving the quality of life. New technologies and new findings in R&D can facilitate this endeavor. On the other hand the Modern Asclepieions can be the test bed for new directions in social life and social responsibility towards ourselves, our children, our ancestors, our fellow citizens and finally all humans.
